Hi! I’m Maria Ammirah Ectoso and I love Spongebob Squarepants. 😀
How long have you had an interest in Spongebob collectibles? How did that come about?
I started when I was still a kid. I know some people keep saying that these stuff are just for kids, but who cares? I’m still young and no matter what age I’d be, I would always look forward to having more Spongebob Squarepants collectibles. Hehe. :))
When did you start collecting Spongebook collectibles?
Nag-start akong mangolekta ng Spongebob collectibles noong 3rd year high school ako, and up until now, hindi ako nagsasawang mangolekta. Hindi ko sigurado kung bakit, basta simula lang noong nagustuhan ko siyang i-collect, unti-unti kong na-appreciate lahat ng Spongebob Squarepants items, at kahit na maliit pa yan, basta si Spongebob Squarepants iyan, I’d still keep that.
How large is your current collection?
As years passed by, sobrang lumaki na ang collection ko hanggang sa, honestly, hindi ko na sila mabilang. Haha! 😀
How do you take care of your collection?
I take good care of them by placing them in my bedroom, at naku, nagagalit talaga ako kapag nadiskubre ko na may nawawala sa collection ko! Noong nawala nga iyong Spongebob Squarepants scarves and towels ko, sobra akong nalungkot at nanghinayang, kaya naman I learned my lesson. From that moment, I said to myself, “It’s my private property kaya walang pwedeng humingi.” 😛
These days, I have also been fond of Teddy bears like my very own “Yhoune at Yhisha” which are my favorites. Lagi ko silang katabi sa pagtulog. They comfort me every night.
Are there many clubs related to collecting Spongebob collectibles out there? Where can you find people with similar interests?
I’m not quite sure if there are clubs or organizations of Spongebob Squarepants collectors kasi sabi nila wala naman daw utak si Spongebob Squarepants, pero ako, ipinaglalaban ko talaga. Haha! XD
What advice would you give to people who are also interested in starting their own collections?
To all Spongebob Squarepants lovers out there like me, don’t mind what people would say about your hobby. As long as you’re happy with it and you enjoy collecting them, just continue buying. Pero syempre, dapat maging aware din tayo sa sarili natin, especially about the thing known as “collector’s addiction” which I, myself, is guilty of although I am learning to control my spending habit now. 🙂
