For Earth’s Sake: Summer Festival for the Environment

Mother Nature provides all creatures, including us humans, with all the necessary materials we need in order to survive. Because of this, the world celebrates Earth Day every April 22, the single biggest environmental celebration in the world participated in by more than 150 countries and over a billion people worldwide.

Each year, Earth Day marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970, which capitalized on the emerging consciousness of the people, channeling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns front and center.

This year, Lucena City launches its very own festival in honor of Earth Day, with the theme “For Earth’s Sake: Summer Festival for the Environment.”

There will also be an open mic session for those who wanted to perform, play, or read stories and poems.

Artists, musicians, art enthusiasts, and poets are invited to be part of “For Earth’s Sake Art Contest and Exhibit” from 10 AM – 6 PM, April 22, 2015 at the SM City Lucena Event Center located on the 3rd floor.
