An alliance of musicians, writers, artists, and youth groups are calling on all Lucenahins and Quezonians to attend the Coal Off: No to Coal Plant in Atimonan Campaign.

The event, to be held at the cave in Perez Park on Sunday, June 21, 2015, 3 PM, will feature an educational discussion about the potential harm that the planned 1200 MW Coal-fired Power Plant in Atimonan, Quezon might cause not only on local farming communities, but also to a wide variety of animal species that live in the province such as birds and marine animals.

Aside from the educational discussion, poetry reading sessions and song performances from local artists have also been lined up for the event as well as free statement shirt printing for everyone who will attend the event with light-colored shirts in hand.

Groups and individuals interested in joining are encouraged to visit the events’ Facebook page for more information or to sign the online petition at 360.org to support the campaign.
