Looking back in our history, before the Spanish colonization, most of the Filipinos were practicing the Islamic belief while others are engaged to pagan practices.

The origin of Christianity here in the Philippines started way back the 1500’s when the Spaniards came to the Philippines. They introduced the Catholicism faith to the Filipinos and gained a lot of converts. As the year passed, Protestantism, which is also a part of the Christian belief, was introduced in the Philippines by the Americans who came here after the Spanish colonization.

The belief of Lucenahins also varies from Muslim, Roman Catholic, Protestant and other religious practices, thus you will find here different fellowship groups, churches, sanctuaries and establishments, which caters to the individual faith of every Lucenahins.
